SWARB UPDATE:

Further to the earlier news items (see below), Swarb's now finally been transferred to the specialist chest hospital at Papworth, Cambridgeshire where he's getting the very best care available & is on the road to recovery. Our thanks go to the wonderful staff at Warwick Hospital for everything they did while Swarb was there, and also a special thank you from Swarb to all the friends & fans who've been sending cards, emails etc over the last month or so. There'll be further updates here over the coming days & weeks.

Shortly after finishing his tour with Martin Carthy last month, Swarb came down with a serious chest infection. At the start of October he was taken in to intensive care at Warwick Hospital where he's slowly recuperating. Swarb's now waiting to be transferred to Papworth Hospital, the leading chest specialists in the country, so he can get the most appropriate care.

It would cheer him up no end to hear from all his friends & fans so 'Get Well Soon' cards, letters etc can be sent direct to Swarb via Atrax at:

• Free Reed will shortly be releasing their bumper 'Swarb!' box-set. Originally scheduled for April/May release, various hold-ups have got in the way but it'll be available by mid-July and will be well worth the wait. Packed with rarities from throughout Swarb's career and featuring just about everybody he's ever recorded with, the jaw-dropping track-list is genuinely the best of Swarb. The set also includes a 100+ page book with photos, interviews, a biography, a discography and lots more, and also a tune-book produced by ex-Fairport, Maart Allcock.
